2 arrested after victim assaulted in Georgetown home invasion

A Monday afternoon home invasion in Georgetown in which one person was assaulted has led to two arrests, according to police.

Officers from the Georgetown Police Department responded to a home on Tranquility Lane at 3:09 p.m. Monday to meet with two victims, one of whom had head injuries.

Police said three men entered the home wearing face coverings — one armed with a handgun — and began to assault one of the victims before fleeing on foot.

Detectives were able to identify one of the suspects as 27-year-old Ryan Crater of Georgetown. He was taken into custody later that same day, according to police, and has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony;
  • First-degree home invasion;
  • Second-degree assault;
  • Aggravated menacing;
  • Wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony;
  • Second-degree conspiracy;
  • Offensive touching.

Crater is being held in the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $210,000 secured bail.

Samuel Senecharles, 22, of Georgetown was identified Tuesday as another suspect in the case. Police said he was taken into custody at his home and faces the same charges as Crater.

Senecharles is being held in the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $167,500 secured bond.
