Update: Sussex County Vocational Technical School District announced Friday, Feb. 26, that remote learning will continue through Friday, March 5, on the recommendation from the Division of Public Health.

The Sussex Technical School District will move to remote-only learning through Friday.

Spokesman Dan Shortridge said the decision was made out of an abundance of caution after positive COVID-19 test results in "people connected to the campus child care center."

The Georgetown campus will close through Feb. 26, to include both Sussex Technical High School and the adult education division. Staff will work remotely, as well.

"The campus will undergo a thorough cleaning and sanitization in the interim," Shortridge said.

Sussex Tech started offering a hybrid learning option on Feb. 1 for students for the first time since the pandemic began.
