Two people suffered bumps and bruises Monday morning after their plane's landing equipment collapsed as they tried to land at Wilmington Airport.

According to Delaware River and Bay Authority spokesman Jim Salmon, the single-engine plane, based out of Brandywine Regional Airport in West Chester, Pennsylvania, made an emergency landing at the New Castle-area airport just before 9 a.m.

Two people inside a single-engine plane declined medical treatment after the aircraft made an emergency landing Monday morning.

When the plane tried to land, its landing gear collapsed and it skidded on its belly down the runway before stopping. Video from the scene shows a fire truck stopped on the runway near the blue-and-white aircraft.

Two people were inside the plane at the time, but were able to get out on their own. Salmon did not give their ages or genders, but said they declined medical attention.
